Nose: Intense and a little grainy with plenty of coffee’d oak, dried fruit, thyme, cocoa, gorse and heather. Wonderfully deep with some luscious light honeyed moments.
Palate: Opens with the soft, toffee’d and cocoa laced oak. Hints of grainy spirit and dried fruit follow along with a touch of coffee. Gently honeyed but the emphasis is definitely on the grainy spirit character.
Finish: Medium length with the oak dampening the vitality a little and leaving the finish quite oily.
Conclusion: A grain whisky perhaps? It certainly feels like one. The palate doesn’t display the complexity of the nose due to the encroaching oak, but it’s pleasant enough.

The nose displays plenty of high toned floral grain which has a lovely edgy quality but supported by some good oak and malt.
The creamy oak opens the proceedings followed by some lovely soft, floral grain and chunky malt. Showing some maturity with the grain definitely showing a few years. Wonderfully complex with some unobtrusive oak. A lovely, spicy, grainy finish. Probably showing a bit too much grain for the purists
