Lecompte Calvados Pays d’Auge 5 year old 40%

Double distilled and aged in moderately toasted new French oak, before finishing in older casks (called russet barrels)

An aromatic, cinnamon flecked nose of baked apple and hints of toasty oak. Lovely intensity with an almost agricole-esque herbal character.

The palate opens with sweet baked apple and hints of cinnamon and toasty oak. Very elegant and mouth-filling with a slightly herbal middle. Lovely purity and a good, spicy finish.

Lecompte Calvados Pays d’Auge 12 year old 40%

A lovely darker, aged rancio with hints of dark honey, tobacco, baked apple, cinnamon and cardamom. Wonderfully mature and deep with late dusty spice notes.

The displays some lovely, aged apple with hints of dark honey and dark spice – cinnamon and pepper. Very smooth and mature with a long, baked apple and sweeter spice finish with just a suggestion of bittering oak.
