Nose: A lovely, deep, slightly herbal and earthy nose, which displays an almost peated character. Beautiful aged rancio of dried prune, raisin, mature pineapple, nuts and a touch of granulated sugar. With time light agricole notes appear along with a touch of toasted toffee.
The palate opens with the lightly herbal dried apricot, sultana and banana. Slightly nutty with a subtle aged rancio. Gently spiced with a touch of vanilla.
Finish: Good length with lingering herbal notes and a lightly, mouth-wateringly mineral finish.
Conclusion: Superb nose. It feels like some aged spirit has been used here. Maybe the palate is not quite as complex as the nose but the finish is very good.
