Krucefix Smerka (Spruce) Eau de Vie 40%

Tasted: July 2016

Dense and lightly oiled spirit notes on the nose with spruce and herbs. Pleasantly balanced with a slight piney edge and background sweetness.

The palate is soft and rounded. Lightly starchy with spruce and herbal notes. Again well balanced with a long, lightly oiled finish with lingering spices.

Krucefix Rusevje (Mountain Pine) Eau de Vie 40%

Btl: Sept 2015/ Tasted: July 2016

Slightly fresher aromas than the spruce with a deeper, almost whisky-like character. The pine notes are quite subtle and again there is a pleasant background sweetness.

Fresh and crisp with a balancing oiliness. Subtle pine with warm spice and an almost liquorice note. Again it has an almost whisky-like character and a long, herbal, almost medicinal spice finish.

Krucefix Sliva (Plum) Eau de Vie 40%

Tasted: July 2016

A very perfumed nose of sweet plum, herbs and violet sweets. A little soapy with hints of marzipan. Very odd and overpoweringly perfumed.

The palate is as sweet and perfumed as the nose suggests. Again a little soapy and sickly with the perfumed plum hitting overkill.

Krucefix Pelin (Wormwood) Eau de Vie 40%

Tasted: July 2016

A herbal nose of wormwood and green tea. Slightly astringent but fresh with a touch of moss, earth and late subtle sweetness.

The palate is a little sweeter and herbal with sweet wormwood, earth and a light couch medicine note. Long with a touch of burnt wood in the finish along with wormwood and spice.
