St Patrick’s Irish Whiskey, Oak Aged 40%
Tasted: Apr 2016
Nose: Soft supple barley and white fruit aromas with a good dollop of honey. Fresh, herbal grain comes through along with sweet coconut and toasty oak.
Palate: Very grain dominated with dried fruit and coconutty oak. The heavy oak begins to bitter on the middle but a touch of honey and barley attempts to balance.
Finish: Crisp and remaining grainy with lingering chocolate, coconut, and coffee notes.
Conclusion: A pleasant blend, although I would have liked to have seen some malt character on the palate.
