Berry Brothers Tasting Notes

Berry Brothers Finest Fijian Rum 9 year old 46%

Tasted: May 2013

Quite an oily and pungent nose in a Guyanan style. Youthful but pleasantly complex with linseed oil, nuts and hints of under ripe banana. Lightly vegetal with a hint of chlorine but not much wood interaction.

The palate is light and vegetal with some linseed oil and a touch of bitter oak. Again comparisons with Guyana are quite apt, but the oak really bites on the middle and although there is a slight dried fruit sweetness it is not strong enough to off-set the bittering oak. Short and a little cheesy on the finish.
